Roger Moore, who featured in the notorious James Bond motion picture establishment in the 1970s and '80s, has kicked the bucket after a "short however overcome fight with disease," his youngsters said. He was 89 years of age.
"With the heaviest of hearts, we should share the dreadful news that our dad, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are altogether crushed," they posted on his official Twitter account Tuesday morning.
His youngsters — Deborah, Geoffrey and Christian Moore — included a letter appended to the tweet, "The adoration with which he was encompassed in his last days was so awesome it can't be measured into words alone."
"Much obliged to you Pops for being you, and for being so extremely extraordinary to such a large number of individuals," they proceeded.
This wasn't the first run through Moore struggled tumor. In 1993 he was determined to have prostate tumor and had surgery to evacuate his prostate. He said in meetings that the growth changed his life.
Not long after his first tumor fight, Moore started seeing Kristina "Kiki" Tholstrup, whom he wedded in 2002. She remained his partner for whatever remains of his life, helping him with his expert life notwithstanding his own one.
In 1973's "Live and Let Die," Moore started his seven-film keep running as Bond, after Sean Connery's choice to venture down as the British knowledge specialist.
Starting there on, Moore was synonymous with the part, featuring in hits like "The Man With the Golden Gun" and "Moonraker," finishing with 1985's "A View to a Kill."
